Have you been conditioned to believe that Erectile Dysfunction is part of the ageing process?

A couple weeks ago I worked with a cis-male client in his 50s who had been relying on the little blue pills, feeling frustrated when it comes to intimacy with his partner, challenged by choosing the right moment to sneak off and take the little blue pill, and still not knowing if they would have sex or not.

It’s not uncommon for middle-aged men to reach out to me for support because they think they have ED. When I ask if they’re still experiencing a morning erection (morning glory), often the response is “yes“. Signs of life and a sign that there’s something mentally, emotionally or hormonally interrupting physical arousal.

If this experience resonates with you, I encourage you to be curious about these common causes of ED:

❓ Low testosterone levels

❓ Performance anxiety

❓ Over thinking (trying to get somewhere forcing feeling frustrated)

❓ Stuck in patterns of speed and friction

❓ Inability to express your body’s needs and desires

❓ Stress (high cortisol)

As you can imagine, this client arrived in a cloud of distress, frustration and uncertainty. Throughout the 90 minute session of conversation and somatic exercise, he was lit with reassurance, empowerment, confidence, curiosity and inspiration. He looked more vibrant, alive, and youthful! He learnt so much about his body and intimacy, all while discovering that he doesn’t have ED, he is in fact quite healthy.

HERE’S WHAT HE HAD TO SAY:

“Thanks Kate. I’ll be doing this. Really appreciate your help today. It’s opened my eyes to better ways and possibilities. Cheers.” – H

Experiencing ED can be frustrating and confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. If you’d like to work with me to discover the path to feeling confident, healthy, empowered, alive, and whole again, be in touch!
